Hi,
I would prefer the event(s) closer to "HOME" which is Lake Ronkonkoma to Holtsville area. The point is lovely but it takes so long to get there.
Would it be possible to see the interior of the old and new Sachem during reunion? Last year we just passed by them and the new High School is huge but we were not allowed on the grounds.
Just my two cents worth.
Thanks.

Hi all. I do think the sunner monthes are better. if we go to the beach is there a place to be for the physically challenged; people like me? I would find it very challenging to walk on sand or stay out in the sun for any length of time. Are there others like me maybe I don't have to attend everything can skip these events that are too strenuous for me. So happy to hear from so many of us. The Internet is great. Hope everything works out for us. Hope to see you in summer 1010. Boy how the years fly by. Hhave fun everyone and God bless Barbara Deppe Schwinn

Hi
I was able to forward the info to my daughters PC at home yesterday, and started to look at it last nite. It was very enjoyable to see many old familiar names and hopefully I will see many more as I go through the complete listing. Looking forward to next year to put the faces and people back with the old memories.

Good morning Classmates
I am having a problem opening the attachment. I do not know if I am doing something wrong. It was wonderful to hear from Dick Williams ( I guess I am just used to knowing him as Dick.). That really came out of the blue. I do not remember what year you graduated , but I graduated in 1961. I have stayed on Long Island all my life , and for the past 35 years have lived in East Setauket. I was married in 1971 and thankfully I am still with my wonderful wife. We have 2 children , my son Bill and my daughter KellyAnn. We were recently blessed with our first grandchild on July 9th of this year. I am still working, and I am employed by P. C. Richard in Farmingdale, where I manage their Wholesale Division. If I can supply you with any other info you may need please let me know. I am looking forward to what should be a very memorable moment at the reunion.
Best Regards
Bill Colmer

Ben,
Thank you for keeping me in the communication loop. You do a great job and I appreciate your time and effort in providing us the pictures and experiences of everyone that has written to you. I know my sisters, Judi & Linda have been involved over the years.
I graduated 1963 with Tony Vitale and didn't know if you are related.

The Holbrook Chamber of Commerce holds a Community Carnival/ Fair for 4 days every year in August and it is held at the Seneca Middle School across the street from Villa Lombardi's. 20,000 to 25,000 people attend it It is generally held around the middle of Au gust. It goes from a Thursday to Sunday. This year it is being held August 13th -16th. Traffic is horrendous although Lombardi's has enough parking. Just apprising you of the event. I do not yet have the dates for 2010 but we have always held this fair around the same time every year.
It might be nice to have a picnic on Saturday for everyone who can make it at one of our lovely county or state parks. After all our County executive is Steve Levy and is a Sachem graduate - class of 1977.

Classmates,
There are so many suggestions, here is one more.
How about Montauk Point during the off season (just after Labor Day)
From a logistics standpoint we would have all the things discussed in one central location.
Please check out this web site: http://www.onmontauk.com/
Do we have a host for our reunion?
Thanks,
Bill Monteverde

Hi John Cassese,
When I spoke with Mandy from Mamma Lombardi's and asked about a date, she told me we could have as of right now any Sunday in August from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.
My Suggestion would be lets do August 15th ..My reasoning is One, it's an August Date, and Two Schools in the South start earlier than up North. I don't know if this affects folks our age......But just in case. Teachers,,Day Care,,,Coaches I also Like the Idea for the Band....and you handling the incoming checks with an account. If we can get Fern Spies to set up a block of rooms at a nearby Hotel,,,that would be great!
Thank You,
Tony Perna

So glad to see you Sachem Long Islanders are really on top of our five-class reunion commemorating 50 wonderful years. I feel very lucky to have come in contact with all of you again and promise to make every effort to attend. What hotels are near the site of the reunion gala affair and being considered for a block of rooms? This, of course, does not have to be limited to one, as competition can lower prices if there is a good negotiator amongst the group.
How do we reach out to those who are not on the computer? Like my sister Joan, but I've got her covered. I have met one person through another friend, not a Sachem graduate. Joanie Kliphon Class of 1963 is not on the computer. I can get the word out to her through a mutual friendship.
A Class of '63 co-graduate is an administrator at one of Sachem's high schools. That would be Maureen Brush. Just throwing this out. I don't know the extent or limitation of your alumni files.
From Sarasota, Florida.

Joan Lalla Gerson:
I think Saturday afternoon at one of Long Island's beaches sounds like heaven. After all, they are the best in the world, aren't they? Before we left L. I. (around 2002), we made several trips out to the Cupsogue Beach at West Hampton. Any beach would do, though or a picnic ground like Sunken Meadow, Wildwood or Hecsher State Park. Thank you to all the L. I. classmates who are helping get this event together. Betty asked if there would be anyone there from the old days. I think there will be a fair number of us, from what I've read, so far.

Judi:
I definitely agree about making this a weekend thing so that people can be together at different functions and have more time together.
Also staying at the same hotel/motel/whatever would be a good idea.
Also staying at the same hotel/motel/whatever would be a good idea.
On another note I had an e-mail from Tony Perna (class of '62) out of the blue since he recognized my e-mail address location. His daughter, Ann Marie works in the same building as I do in Raleigh, NC. Tony and Linda (McMaster) live about an hour from me. I've e-mailed Ann Marie to let her know.
