Facebook Posts Wont Scroll Down

For those Sachem alumni that have migrated to our Facebook group "sachem alumni 1959 1965"  Some are having troubles with Facebook pages that wont scroll down.

Facebook posts wont scroll down... solution

I got my scrolling back... Facebook added a few features and I had to click a few items in order to get my scrolling back. If your scrolling is working, dont touch a thing!
If your scrolling has stopped, first record your present settings on paper, then try the settings that I have set. The settings are to be found in the left hand column of our Facebook page.

IF IT WORKS DONT FIX IT!

The tabs that are discussed below are in the left hand column of a Facebook group.

Here are the settings that I am using.
-------------------------
If you see a "discussion tab" click it.
If you see "(Filter results)"
Click "most rescent"
Posts from: "your friends and groups."
Posted in group: "Any group"
Tagged location: "Anywhere"
Date posted: "Any date"

AGAIN, IF YOUR SACHEM FACEBOOK PAGE IS WORKING DO NOT TOUCH ANY OF THE SETTINGS! I SET THE ABOVE BECAUSE MY PAGE SCROLLING DISAPPEARED!
DONT FIX IT IF IT AINT BROKEN! LOL!
The real culprit is the POSTS FROM: Anyone... this is a private group and non members are not allowed to post!

Photos From Back Home on Longguyland!
Ben Vitale

Today everyone was catching Sea Robbins, and Fluke, at the Shinecock canal inlet! Yah some even caught sea weed! Everybody threw the Sea Robbins back in the water! When they caught a Fluke it had to be of the Monster man eating verity! LOL! It had to be 19 inches long! LOL! So... Everybody threw the fluke back in the water!

And now it gives me great pleasure to introduce the winner of today's fishing extravaganza... Lucy the seagull ! LOL! Lucy the seagull, has a doctorate degree in maritime survival. Our sea gull has learned to stay near the fisherman at the end of the day when they dispose of the bait that they used for fishing! LOL! The only one that went home with any fish is Lucy! LOL!

But it was still a lovely day, watching the birds and the fisherman! Yesss!

Yep! This is one of my hobbies!

(Double click the photo to make it larger!)

Taking photos of the Davis Park Casino from the Sandspit marina, across the Great South Bay, which is over two miles away! I keep taking the same photo under different lighting conditions. I use this technique to test cameras!

Looking through the bar window, I could actually see my spirit sitting at the bar drinking draft beer, and listening to 60's music. LOL!

Can you see any other spirits at the bar? Yesss! LOL!

I Just Went to Heaven!
Ben Vitale

Fellow classmates please join 100 of your classmates on Facebook. Join Facebook! Ask your children to help you!

This afternoon I went to a wedding at the Beach Club Estates, Lake Ronkonkoma! A wonderful catering hall! I had my 50th wedding anniversary party in the new building that is nearest to the water. But this time I was directed to a room in another building. Please look at the photo!

Beautiful room, but I suddenly realized that I was standing on hallowed ground! Yesss! This room was the former location of the Lighthouse Hotel! OMG in 1960, I was bowling and drinking beer in that building! This personal warm feeling had come upon me... I had indeed returned to a location of my youth! LOL! Yesss!

This building is now used for a catering room and offices! I asked an employee about the Bowling Ally, and was advised that the Bowling Ally is still down stairs! Wow! The original Lighthouse Hotel was renovated and turned into a catering facility!

After the wedding was over my "spirit of youthful events," caused me to float out of that building with a big smile on my face! Yesss! I was in contact with a piece of my youth, and loved every minute of it! LOL! Smile!

Photos From Way Back Home on Long Island

Ben Vitale

The fisherman all wedged their fishing poles between the rocks at the Shinecock inlet! They then gathered around a cooler and started to drink beer. One fisherman from the group said to the gentleman in the photo " better check your pole it is moving!" He checked his pole and did indeed find a fish! LOL! A Seaweed fish! I am totally convinced that the Seaweed is conspiring against the fisherman! LOL! The only thing that they did not try is to use Coors Light as bait! LOL! Hey the fish know what is good! LOL!

Today Our Classmate Gail Rast Entertained at the Pindar Vineyard on Eastern Long Island.
Ben Vitale

Today I went to the Pindar vineyard on Eastern long island to see Gail Rast, play with her band which is called Sahara. Gail is a graduate from the Sachem High School class of 1960. Gail's band played 60s and 70s music. I had a great time. The crowd had a great time! I told Gail to visit us on our Facebook alumni site! I believe that she has more engagements at the Pindar Winery. We Sachem Alumni must get together as a group, and visit Gail at the winery! We could have a Mini Reunion.

Ten Foot Waves at Smith Point, Long Island, NY
Ben Vitale

Hurricane Juaqin which is currently off the coast of Long Island is causing some really big waves to break on Fire Island, Long Island, NY. I saw a few waves that were about Ten feet high; the media says that the waves were 15 feet high! Hummm.... (Left click the big arrow, and then left click the small arrow to see the video. You should also left click the small box on the lower right hand portion of the video, to get a full screen display! Once the video is over, press the Escape key to return to the normal screen size.) Members of the Sachem High School Alumni Group:

We have 130, members in this "Sachem High School Alumni Gazette," group (Blog). This Blog is like a newspaper; generally "read only." It is not conducive to carrying on a conversation!
You are currently looking at our Sachem Blog!

150 of our classmates from Sachem High School, also belong to our Facebook group which is called "Sachem Alumni 1959 - 1965," .https://www.facebook.com/groups/58645312298/

Facebook is a read and talk site. So... 150 Sachem Alumni, our classmates, talk to each other daily; just as we did in high school.

It is so wonderful to talk to old friends! I actually talk to my classmates more now than I ever did when I went to Sachem! You guessed it... We became friends 50 years after graduation! This is wonderful!

So... Don't be afraid of Facebook!

Secret of the Most Beautiful Christmas Tree Discovered
Ben Vitale

For decades I have had the honor of having the most beautiful Christmas tree, right in my own living room. I have the honor of having the most beautiful Christmas tree every year because of my wife’s expertise in the art of selecting Christmas trees. The trees that my wife has selected through the years were always perfect; at least “I thought so!” I must admit that I have not paid attention to certain small details in the past. I was not fully cognoscente of the fact that a “Charlie Brown” Christmas tree can be made to look like the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center, in NYC, with a little bit of help! Yes Marie does have an aptitude for selecting beautiful Christmas trees, but I did not realize that she gave the trees a bit of Tender Loving Care; just like the TLC a women gets when she goes to her Beautician! LOL!

Well folks I just can’t remove the smile from my face since I found the evidence beneath my Christmas Tree! This year I did indeed pay attention to the small details and discovered a pair of Garden Clippers, under our Christmas tree! Marie cut off the long scraggly "Charlie Brown” Christmas tree branches so that our Christmas tree now looks like a perfect triangle! Yes it is as pretty as the one in Rockefeller Center! LOL!

OK… Our tree was indeed beautiful when we purchased it and Marie made it look even better. “Breathtaking!” LOL! Yesss! Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Kwanzaa “to all and to all Good Night!”

Please read the article that was published on Patch a few years back in order to bring a new perspective to this article. http://patch.com/new-york/patchogue/bp--the-most-beautiful-christmas-tree-on-long-island
