Dear Classmates,
Arlene and I were able to tour Sachem on Saturday September 11, 2010.
The photo’s were taken with my cell so the picture quality is some what compromised.
We hope these photo’s bring back pleasant memories for our classmates.

Great pictures, thanks for taking the time. My memories of high school are only good ones. To me those were my "golden" years. Life was simple then and were some of the happiest days of my life! Pat Prince-Rath
ReplyDeleteI distantly remember Bernie Brisson! I came into his class with English as my second language. My primary language was and still is "Brooklynese." Now.... Brooklynese is a cultural thing from the Provence of Boro Park, within the state of New York. To this day I thank Bernie for passing me in English.....Hey!!!! Who Knows???? if he didn't....I could still be a student at Sachem! Ha! Ha!
ReplyDeleteI think of him often!

Mr. Brisson was my senior year english teacher.
ReplyDeleteThe thing I remember most about him was when he wanted our attention he kicked the garbage can across the room. Also I loved the way he read Beo Wolf in the old english. He was a teriffic teacher and role model.

Thanks for the pictures. Spent lots of time in this building as a student and sec'y to Richard Berger (when he was temporarily there for the 2nd time) Worked with Bernie Brisson
ReplyDeletealso and he was a very nice person. What good times to remember.
I also took a walk through the halls of our old friend Sachem Jr/Sr High School about 35 years after graduation..What I noticed immediately were the stairs..The brand new stone stairs that I trod on were now worn down in the middle from hundreds of feet that walked (ran if we didn't get caught) up and down them all these years..from saddle shoes ked sneakers, and loafers to air Jordans and sandals..I felt myself a teenager again looking for Mr Blatt in art class or Mr Lawlor in History..We were lucky to be part of a special place....Gerry Jacobs Horal.class of '64
ReplyDeletegood pictures, but it isn't the same Sachem we went to 50 years ago. There are a lot of memories in those hallways that will be there forever. Those were the good old days. I had Mr. Brission and Mr. DelFabro and had a good time in their classes and learned alot. To bad we can't go back in time and do it all over again.
