Philip Butler a Local Activist Saves Christmas
We are making National News from our little Village of Patchogue. Philip Butler's actions were aired everywhere, on Fox News, ABC, and even Newsday. In an effort to stop the Politically Correct Clan, Phil pressured Local groups to call there events Christmas Events, instead of Holiday Events. I thought it would never happen! He even set up a Nativity Scene on Main St, in conjunction with the local chapter of the Knights of Columbus!

First click the link below, then click the link after the video of the Grinch, to read the Newsday coverage.

News from Way Back Home on Long Island!
Winter has set-in here on Long Island, New York. I don't have to tell you that fathers get involved with their children's activities! I sold my boat about eight years ago, and guess what? My son just continued the tradition! So what did I get involved with? A Christmas Boat Parade! Actually it was a lot of fun!

The Sachem High School Alumni Gazette is not my first publication. Fifteen years ago I started publishing the "Maple Avenue Neighborhood Watch Gazette." At that time Issues were delivered in paper form, to my neighbors, within my local area. This Gazette was to serve a Neighborhood Watch Group. Copies of this four page Newsletter were delivered to Three Hundred and Fifty Households. We figure that about thirteen hundred people, may have read the "Maple Avenue Neighborhood Watch Gazette."

No one likes to read only "bad news," so uplifting articles were mixed along with the "Bad News." This strategy succeeded in promoting a sense of comaraderie and community. In order to keep up with the times, I migrated the MANW Gazette into the Internet, and abandoned the printed newsletter.

Why did I call the Neighborhood Watch Newsletter, a Gazette? A Gazette is a small Newspaper. At that time our "not too friendly" local government, did not like our "Activist Group," and was ready to give us tickets for littering, when we delivered our Newsletter. I then called our publication a Gazette, which now made us subject to a different set of rules. If they dared to give us a ticket for littering, they would also have to give a ticket to Newsday!

All of this text is to prevent you from getting confused! I will be sharing articles between the "Maple Avenue Neighborhood Watch Gazette," and our "Sachem High School Alumni Gazette." You will be spared the Bad News!

In this case I will be linking to only one article from the other publication.

It was really cold on that Boat!
