Announcement from Jessica Boehm; Sachem Alumnus Heroes Welcome:
Hi Leaders:
I can't think of a better way to get ready for Memorial Day with your troops than to recognize one of Sachem's own who proudly served his country and gave so much. If you can, please forward this to your troop parents, your friends and family. This man deserves a hero's welcome!
Subject:

Wounded Warrior Homecoming Holbrook. To all SYAG members and neighbors (Bob - please forward to all SYAG members, to pass along to managers, coaches and parents). On Saturday, May 16th Corporal Chris Levi, a Holbrook native and former, Sachem student, will be coming home to Holbrook after a long recuperation at, Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, DC. Chris, 26 years old, suffered the loss of both his legs above the knees and the use of his right arm during combat in Iraq. With the efforts of the Holbrook FD and the local communties, we would like the streets to be lined with people starting from Mollie Blvd> in Holbrook all the way down Broadway Ave to Vet's Hwy greeting Chris home. Please let's all make every effort to pass the word and to be there to welcome this brave young man and soldier home and and show him how much we appreciate his service, sacrifice and how proud we are of him. American flags will also be passed out to all. Please forward this to all SYAG parents and local neighbors in the area. For more information, please call 631-484-3197. Profile Joan Giardina Mathieu:

*
Hi,
It’s been close to 50 years since we graduated! I’m Joan Giardina Mathieu and since I’m not computer savvy, I’m writing you.

My sister Deanna Giardina Mauch had said that you emailed her and asked for synapses of what I’ve been up to over the years.

Here Goes:
I was an Air Force Wife and have two children, Crystal Ann (48) and Gene (45); three grandchildren, James, Shelby, LeAnn, and Nina.

As a military family we were stationed in Germany (Hans A.F. Base); Klamath Falls, Oregon; Victorville California; Cheyanne, Wyoming; and Tehran, Iran, before coming to Colorado Springs. Have been living in the Springs ever since.

Tehran was quite an adventure to say the least. Luckily we left before the civil unrest became full blown.

I was employed as a secretary and / or Book Keeper for a number of years.

I have a beautiful view of the Rocky Mountains from my patio, although I still miss not living by the Ocean.

Best wishes to the Graduating Class of 1959! The years have gone by too quickly!

Joan Mathieu
