Video of Lake Ronkonkoma
The Bavarian Inn is at the far end of the now visible Parking Lot. This lot was under five feet of water, just a few months ago.

The noise in the background is the wind; it was blowing at 35 Miles Per Hour, when this video was taken.

At the end of this video you will see the former location of Turners Park, which is now a Playground/ Picnic Area.

I still look at this area with great fondness; I spent some of the best years of my life "Hanging Out," at Lake Ronkonkoma! I loved the Pavilions; Hollywood Pavilion, Ceder Grove, The Suffolk House, and the Bavarian Inn!

My first professional appearance as a Guitar Player/ Entertainer was at a Lake Ronkonkoma Night Club (name withheld). What I didn't know at the time, was that it was a "House of Ill Repute."

As I think back, I clearly recall Great People, and Great times!

Comment From Barbara Deppe Schwinn:

I do have fond memories of lake Ronkonkoma. Bettyann ,keller, Cox and I would take the bus , I would get on in Farmingville, and she would get on in Selden. Fond memories; we would also do the same thing if we went to Patchogue. Our Shopping Mall, ha ha. I remember Sweezeys, the 5 and 10, going to the movies, and just hanging out. Fond memories!

Thanks to all

Comment From Joan Lalla Garson:

Hi
I wonder if anyone remembers the name of that ride at Turner Park that rotateted like a ferris wheel, but each caged unit which could seat 4 people also rotated individually. It was so scarey that my neighbor actually wet her pants while we were on it

Comment From Priscilla Kolb-Pierce:
I went on that ride with my father when I was about 14. He thought he it would be funny to rock it until I wound up sitting on his shoulders and neck. Then it wasn't so funny.

I don't remember the name.
