News From Way Back Home on Long Island!
On our usual mondane Sunday afternoon ride, we "got" more than we planned on! The remnants of Hurricane Bill, that passed near Long Island, generated huge waves and a flood tide.

On route to having dinner near the Shinacock Inlet, along Dune Road, we experienced the following adventure! It was fun!

And what were you doing out wandering around in all of that?
I wonder if this was the storm that spawned a tornado in downtown Toronto and another 30 miles north of it last week.

This flooding on Dune Road is not uncommon and not only because of Hurricane Bill. Throughout the year flooding has occurred from the bay side (both Quantuck and Shinnecock Bays) from Ponquogue Bridge West to Beach Lane in Westhampton Beach are overflowing. As long a we have high tide and a full moon, my duck blind will have over two feet of water in it.
